As soon as Abaçai installed itself in the Parque da Água Branca, its space, which affectionately became known as “Terreiro do Abaçai,” rapidly transformed into a meeting point for traditional groups from Sao Paulo state, for groups from outside the state, and for the so-called urban groups. It was at Abaçai that we received Dindinha, Maria José and Graça, ladies from the prestigious Casa de Fanti Ashanti (after having met them in their own Casa, in Maranhão state, in 1987). Intense experiences filled the time we spent with these ladies who delicately shared their comprehension of what they are masters of: the Caixeiras do Divino,. They left us having established spirited bonds between us all.
